Who am I? These “About You” sections always stump me, I’m never quite sure what to say! I feel overwhelmingly complicated and simplistic. That may be the result of too many lattes and not enough sleep. Ah, well.
I can say that I love the Lord Jesus, the maker of such a beautiful world and the Redeemer of my soul…ours as been a very long life together, and one that has had many ups and downs, but, as Kirk Franklin says, “Jesus, I’m still in love with You.” The ups and downs are on my end, He is consistently “up.”
A couple of years ago I was looking into getting my MBA and launching a marketing firm. I was subsequently hijacked by Jesus, and He has not let me go since! At present time I am preparing for seminary school at Alliance Theological Seminary where I begin this coming fall. A woman may indeed make many plans for her life, but the counsel of the Lord shall stand. With the greatest humility I have answered His call for me: to teach. It has been a joyous struggle thus far and I look forward to running the rest of my race! (My running shoes sit quietly…some days I forget to put them on.)
I use the ellipsis constantly…it is the result of having an active, artistic mind. Or perhaps too many late night reruns.
Nevertheless, here are my stats: female. of African descent. pushing 30. coffee lover. cupcake eater. Bible teacher. fashionista. Jesus follower. people lover. introspective. pianist. painter. loc wearer. seminarian. plus, many, many more things I cannot think of!
this blog contains my musings on life, culture, fashion, the Lord, and anything else that comes my way. You are most welcome here, no matter who you are. I do ask that you treat everyone with respect and dignity, refraining from profanity, blasphemy, pettiness, and all general disrespect.
That being said, enjoy yourself (insert Jackson 5 here). Feel free to email me if you want to contact me directly: theSonsCouture at yahoo.com
